Why Shooters Choose a Rifle
A rifle's barrel is cut with spiral grooves that spin the bullet and hold it steady in flight, which is what gives a rifle its accuracy and its reach over a handgun. It's also easier to shoot well, since you brace it against your shoulder and sight down a longer distance between the sights, so a new shooter usually sees tighter groups on the first trip out. One platform covers a lot of ground: hunters, target shooters, competitors, and home-defense buyers all end up with a rifle, just built differently for each job.
