Illuminated Handgun is designed for students who already possess solid handgun manipulation fundamentals and focuses on applying established handgun skills in low-light and near-dark conditions. Students will work on drawing and holstering safely, performing efficient reloads, clearing common malfunctions, and engaging multiple targets while incorporating basic movement. By the end of the course, students should feel confident managing their handgun and making effective shooting decisions when visibility is limited.
Topics covered include:
- Safe handgun handling in low-light environments
- Efficient manipulations including draws, reloads, and malfunctions
- Movement and multiple-target engagement under reduced visibility
- Practical flashlight techniques for target identification
Course Details:
- Duration: 6 hours
- Time: 11:30AM – 5:30PM
- Investment: $290
- Ammunition: At minimum 300 rounds (not included)
- Equipment: Students must bring their own gear (see list below)
- Prerequisites H3 or equivalent, or Holster Certification and H3 Standard (Students can submit certificates from other training facilities to training@wbarmory.comto see if they meet the requirements to enroll in this course.)
- What to Bring:
- Functional semi-automatic pistol
- Pistol mounted flashlight and handheld flashlight
- OWB holster fitted for your firearm (with light attached)
- Minimum of 3 magazines
- Pants with belt loops and sturdy 1.5″ belt
- Knee pads (recommended, not required)
- Closed-toe shoes, weather-appropriate clothing
- Wraparound eyewear or non-shattering prescription glasses
- Ear protection
- Lunch/snack and a water bottle

The Illuminated Handgun class is fantastic. Working with your firearm safely and efficiently in the dark and incorporating weapon lights/handheld flashlights AND dynamic movement challenges your abilities and takes your skills up to a higher level. Any class with Dan builds your skills, confidence, and knowledge base, and you have alot of fun! Highly recommend IH. I will take this course again.

Awesome class. Learned a lot about operating a handheld flashlight and shooting one-handed including how to handle reloads and malfunctions. The dynamic movement drill in the dark at the end of the class to tie everything together was a lot of fun.

It’s not often you get the chance to learn & practice your skills shooting in the dark with a flashlight and this class is a fantastic way to do that in a very safe environment. Dan applies his “crawl, walk, run” approach like he does in all his classes in order to teach you new skills & build upon them. This class was full of great information that was made easy to apply to skill building drills. This was my favorite class so far & that’s saying a lot.

HI was awesome. A lot of fun to go over tactics for low light shooting with a handgun. Lots of considerations I hadn’t thought about before the class.
